Hundred Day Hustle Wrap Up

Time to see how the last 100 days of the year went for me. I didn't finish all my list but it got a lot longer (as predicted). Here are the links to my original post and halfway point update.

Finished Projects - click on the links to see the full post about each project. I made 6 quilts!

1. Tales from Earth and Sea

2. Sakura quilt for my Bubby. She absolutely adores it and assures me she uses it every day. I don't want my quilts to go unused in a closet somewhere or just displayed for fear of getting them dirty. I make sure to stress they are machine washable and meant to be used.

3. t-shirt quilt. I didn't even add this to the list originally because it was in an embarrassing heap of t-shirts at the beginning of the hustle but I got a spurt of energy to make it and it only took one day!

4. Spinning stars. My sister LOVES it by the way. So does my Dad and Stepmom. They were all blown away. It makes me happy to think of it on their couch.

5. Scootin' Squares. A quilt donated to the Salvation Army. I hope this made a little 4 year old boy happy.

6. Geaux Baby quilt for friends. I finished this one just under the wire because I wanted to take it to New Orleans and gift it in person. Full post is pending but here is a peak...

13. 16 figure 8 scarves. Much loved by all the ladies. A great mass production idea for Christmas prezzies.

15. Two scrappy placemats for a wedding gift for a coworker.  I used my favorite method for them. One day I will have to blog about the dimensions.

16. 4 placemats for BIL for Christmas. Same pattern but with blue and green scraps. I made the back a little special here with two fabrics for the plate and the silverware.

Not my cat! But he is a cute little marmie.

17. Stockings for inlaws

Ongoing - hopefully these will be done in January. Except the EPP I will just take my sweet time with that.

1. Scrap buster placemats - need 4 for my mom. These just need binding but since she now reads my blog (Hi Mom!) I can't post any pics just yet.

2. Recover 2nd pillow for guest bedroom- EPP project. I've been making slow headway with this one while traveling.

3. Quilt for my sister Allison - she wants a honeycomb pattern with bees - using this pattern and these fabrics. I am finished cutting the fabric.

No progress- 

1. Nubees block quilt - I realized I need to make three more blocks but I have the backing and sashing fabric ready to go. This is slated for January.

Not started

2. Advent calendar- A little birdie told me that I may be getting one verrry soon.

3.Tree skirt- fodder for Christmas in July 2013

I got pretty much everything I wanted done. I am already brewing ideas for 2013. I wish you all a wonderful New Year's Eve and a Happy New Year! 100 day hustle - on the 50 yard line

Progress update for the halfway point of...

Anyone ever watch Dead Like Me? I feel like I am part of "getting things done with Dolores." Won't you see what kind of things I have been getting done?

1. Tales from Earth and Sea (a roller rink quilt Elizabeth Hartman design)

2. October NuBees

3. Lunch bags for the frog festival (made but didn't go to the festival (sad face))

4. Last couch pillow. All the pillows (and Scrappysaurus Rex) on the new couch...

5. Sakura quilt for my Bubby (this one was a recent addition to my list as well as a recent finish)

Ongoing

1. Commissioned messenger bag for coworker - made the body of the bag, stalled at making the strap.

Heavyweight canvas for the main fabic to give it support. Lined with Habitat and some Hope Valley. Pattern is the messenger bag from From the Zakka Style book (my favorite pattern of the book).

2. 16 figure 8 scarves (the number used to be 24 but I miscalculated earlier) - fabric cut. Test scarf made. Halfway through sewing.

Little folks voile. 1 down, 15 to go. I confess I've worn this one around town a bit. You know, just to test drive it.

3. Three more Christmas pillow covers. Each pillow will be made uising a different technique. I have already made the tops for two of them. I have the fabric and design picked out for the third.

Can you believe it. Only 50 more days until 2013. My completed list is growing but I am already thinking of the things I want to add to the list for the start of 2013. I really need to stay focused!!

By the 75% mark I expect that all the ongoing projects will be complete and that I will have made some headway into the semi-abandoned projects at the end of my list. Head on over to Kelsey's to see everyone do the hustle.

100 Day Hustle - 1/3 into the dance

Progress update for the first 1/3 of

Theoretically a good way to assure we all get projects done before the new year. I love writing lists. So satisfying to cross things off too so here goes. I did not get as much done as I wanted to.

Ack my list is growing instead of shrinking. I hope to make a lot of headway this weekend.

Old 2012 goals revisited

In my first blog post in August I wrote up some goals for the rest of 2012. And, you guys, I have finished almost all of them! So even if my 100 day hustle list gets longer instead of shorter I am still a winner.

August Goals for 2012 revisited (red = still not complete):
Start a blog (and I think I may even have a few readers now)
Donate a quilt to charity (donated 2 to Quilt for Kids)
Join a bee (I've participated in Nubees a monthly quilt block swap in August, September October/November)
Write a tutorial (2 blocks and one paper piecing template)
Zakka sew along hosted by LRstitched (14 of 24 projects completed)
Scrap quilt inspired by this quilt and others like it (Scrapysaurus rex)
Two pillow tops
Eggplant and mustard lap quilt (blocks from Nubees 12 done, 6 more from October and it will be ready to put together)
A quilt from Modern Patchwork by Elizabeth Hartman (tales from earth and sea)
Redo living room pillows (4 out of 4 complete) I finished the last pillow this week:

The last of the Parisville scraps from my chevron quilt. These were all the wonky scraps pieced together randomly.

I pebbled quilted (for the first time) in the white space and just meandered through the prints.

I think I like the back the best. It is a simple envelope closure with two blocks of purple and a stripe of Parisville. The piping really pops on the back.

Oh and my cats were getting tired of all the attention the dogs got on the blog so they knocked over a potted plant. YAY!
